ENGAGEMENT

IMPROVE YOUR LEADERSHIP SKILLS

10 Great Apps Every Leader Needs to Be Effective

It's not enough for twenty-first-century leaders to focus on getting things done. They must also connect with employees to inspire performance. Digging deeper, top management today needs to marry purpose and meaning to each employee's contribution. Amid these expectations, and these are but a handful, it's easy for a leader to overlook herself.

October 5, 2018 - Class #7 - Personal Credit

Other than the 1st class about Gratification, I consider this class about personal credit to be the most important class.

Our speaker will discuss everything you need to know about credit.

Why is credit so important. Having good credit and knowing how to use it:

  1. Some employees require good credit for the better jobs
  2. Having good credit will keep your living expenses lower
  3. Having good credit will help with real estate investing
  4. Having good credit is an asset that help you lower your stress level
You will be given a test based on what you learn today. So be attentive, take notes and participate.

If you have any personal credit questions, Mr. Carter can help after class.

Homework #2
10 Year Life Plan

My suggestion for a good grade. Do not wait until the last minute.

Due: Thursday September 13th by 11.59 pm
Delivery: email attached .pdf file to os3@aol.com
Assignment:  Write a report laying out your 10 year life plan.

Take your time and think  about this subject. Do not wait until the last minute and write a quick bullet point report saying, " I am going to do...this....this..."

Watch this short video.

Do not write just a set of goals. Include the steps that you will take to get to your 10 year goals.

Remember when you decided to go to college (a goal)? What were the steps you know you needed to accomplish that goal.

Cover at least the following areas:
  1. Changes both physical and mental including changes in behavior
  2. Health/Wellness
  3. Education
  4. Career
  5. Financial
  6. Family
  7. Social

Here is an example of a Career 10 year plan. This example is limited to just the area of your career and I want your report in a narrative format and not an outline format, but this example might help you think about your report.

Create a table, like the one below, to build an outline from which you can write your Life Plan Report.

If you use the about table to build an outline. Do not submit the outline. Use the outline to write your plan.

Here is a link to a nice discussion of  building a personal plan.

The 7 Simple Steps for Creating Your Personal Growth Plan

Eat healthy, be fit, get that promotion - most of us have areas where we want to improve. But why are we so bad at reaching our goals? It's not only a matter of lacking willpower. What most people are missing is a clear plan for developing themselves further.

During that time period, bad things can happen. Some of these things are unforeseen and could cause the reduction or elimination of the gratification.
