ReplyDeleteThis helped people who did not have resumes start their resumes and those who did have resumes refine and edit specifics of their resume. For me specifically I decided to update my experience because I had an internship that I did over the summer that was not on there. This exercise was very helpful because I was able to sit down and update my resume.

My first time creating a cover letter was not easy because I had to look at examples since I'm a visual student to actually see how it's suppose to look. When I was creating it made sense to me because everything came in natural just based of my resume which was not difficult.
DeleteThis was actually my first time creating a cover letter and understanding how my resume and cover letter needs to set up and what type of information I should and should not include.

ReplyDeleteThis actually helped me because I had a resume but it made me reevaluate it and it was definitely time for me to make some changes on it. I also appreciate you encouraging us to do a cover letter because I had to do some research for that to. Not a lot of people emphasize the cover letter but I think it helps you stand out.

I never knew having long hair can stop you from getting a job. If she didn't tell us that I would've still had long hair down my back BEST advice ever. Your first impression is everything especially as a woman. -BRIANNA CORDERO
ReplyDeleteI had to make updates to my LinkedIn profile which helped me realize how busy I’ve been within the last year.
ReplyDeleteBefore this assignment, I did not have a LinkedIn account. Therefore, this helped motivate me to create a LinkedIn and Handshake account. Not only did I create an account for the grade, but also to help recruiters from different companies know who I am when I apply for internship/career opportunities.

The presentation helped broaden my knowledge about resume's and cover letter's. Since I began my college career, I was taught a certain format, and I was taught to not include color, designs, and photos on my resume. However, with the help of the presentation I was able to upgrade my resume and create a better product to go against competition.

This presentation was extremely helpful. The speaker discussed the variety of business attires which is crucial to understand in the business world. There are a variety of business events that occur that have specific dress codes. As a result, it is necessary to know what attire is appropriate for a specific event so you know how to prepare yourself. Moreover, I found her suggestions and examples about clothing for women to be useful. Sometimes people can get confused on what to wear at the workplace and she emphasized the importance of knowing your environment and provided clarity about appropriate business attire.
ReplyDeleteI needed this.
