November 2, 2018 - Class #10 - Corporate America to Entrepreneurship

Today we are have a speaker who at only 27, worked in Corporate America and then started her own business. Rate my Station

Ms. Valeria Sistrunk is an FAMU graduate and an AKA.

She worked as a TV reporter and then saw an opportunity to start a web site aimed at the TV newsroom.

  3. Your daughter enlightened me on the fact that I don't have to work for someone to make money. That some markets within corporate America are unfair and underpaid. Being an entrepreneur is the best bet if you are truly hungry for the money.

  4. I really enjoyed this speaker. Hearing her struggles and successes made me realize I'll probably have to take detours while headed toward my dream. I liked getting to see some of her videos as well as her website and hearing how she got to where she is.

  8. I enjoyed Ms. Sistrunk's presentation, and her videos were very funny and entertaining as well. Hearing her experiences of getting started in her career and how there were some struggles made me realize that things may not be easy or what you imagined it to be at first. Therefore, I can be more prepared and aware.

  10. I really enjoyed this class because I also want to become an entrepreneur. Being a finance major it often seems as if college is preparing me to work corporate but that's not what I would like to do at all.

  11. This class was the best one all semester. She was very relatable and taught how to keep going. I think that her tips on creating a business and networking and finding information on your own is very motivating. I loved it.
